The death and or funeral I had thought would happen during Artfest finally came to pass Sunday night. The theater secretary T, who I have known for 18 years lost her battle with cancer, and is no longer in pain. For that I am so grateful since she was in a lot of pain. Told hubby someone from the department needs to speak at her service and he has known her all these years. All the other faculty is new in comparison. He didn't go to see her and is not sounding like he wants to speak at her service. Asked if he wanted me to call the retired costumer/Theater chair who was T's close friend to see if he is willing to speak? Hubby thought that was best. My assumption is T's husband will ask for speakers and music and dance will also appoint someone. Oddly enough I just feel peaceful that T is no longer in pain and her funeral will be attended by many old acquaintances. Making a mental note now to order flowers as soon as we have a date for the service.
